Week In The Life/Saturday & Sunday

Walking to the farmer's market. (It's hard to see, but there's a poem in the sidewalk.)

Big fan of radishes.

At Pizzeria Lola. Delicious. And they had a photobooth!

Walker Art Museum/Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

A cool refreshment.

A steamy, hazy day.

Steve Carrell is a genius.

Back to school shopping with my nieces. I picked up a notebook and Sharpie pens.

Observations//
I'm so glad I decided to take on this project and that I stuck with it. There were definitely some harder days, but I'm thankful that I captured all of it through photos and journaling. There was a conversation on the Big Picture classes message board for Week In The Life that focused on how it can be difficult to really see your life. I resonated with this. To stop and notice how you spend your time can be eye opening and hard to swallow, especially if you're not spending your time in a way that makes you happy. I think while this can be difficult, it's also the point of the project. Yes, it's also fun to take pictures in interesting ways, but it's more to me than that. It's about being mindful. It's about living a life of purpose. Once you see it, you can make the choice to change it. There were a few things that I saw that I am not happy with. I am going to work really hard to try and integrate some changes. Thanks Ali for the idea and all the support and inspiration along the way.

Next up| Put it all together in an album. Still pondering how I'll do this. So many ideas sound good to me. A Smash book? A mini? An 8 1/2 x 11 album? I'm leaning toward a Smash book. I like the idea of something already put together and all I have to do is stick it on the page.

Thanks for going along on this journey with me.

Ten on Tuesday is back tomorrow. Happy August! Simply astonished it's already August.

Week In The Life//Thursday

Since I was feeling a tad under the weather yesterday, I didn't get many photos. I am bummed, but rolling with it. I still journaled though, so I'm happy about that.

Here are the few I took.

Turkey sandwich, chips, veggies and hummus for lunch.

Reading through a twitter interview with Josh Ritter and O magazine.

This for dinner.

Observations//
I have no problem remembering to take pictures of my food.
I'm looking forward to capturing my weekend in photos. Fun things planned.
I'm happy Oprah picked Josh Ritter's book for her summer reading list.

Week In The Life//Wednesday

I'm still at it! Day three of the Week In The Life. I may have jinxed myself, though, when I said I had some momentum. How quickly things can change. After a sleepless night, trying to track down a lost package, and trying to convince a ginormous health insurance company that I'm worthy of coverage, I wasn't much in the mood to document today. But there were some definite highlights and I'm choosing to focus more on those.

Here they are:

A tasty breakfast, while reading one of my favorite magazines.

My happy skirt.

I fell off the healthy lifestyle wagon. But it was oh so good.

I finally found my lost package. Hooray!

Dessert after dinner.

Observations//
It's midweek and I'm still really enjoying this project. I'm surprised by this too, since I went into with a ho-hum attitude.
It's fun anticipating what I captured while I wait for the photos to download.
I'm really enjoying what others are seeing through their lenses.
I'm going to try and shoot broader looks of my surroundings tomorrow.

Week In The Life//Tuesday

A few of my favorite shots from Tuesday.

Up bright and early to sign up for ScrapFest workshops.

Breakfast.

A morning walk.

Errands.

A day brightener.

Lunch. (This was delicious!)

A favorite activity.

Playing with photo booth.

Observations//
Seeing my Monday schedule, I knew I had to peel myself away from the computer today. I took a wonderful morning walk that set the stage for a good day. Need to remember to do this more often.
I took more self portrait photos today.
Still fewer photos later in the day. I think it's because the lighting is so bad later in the day.
Today was much more fun than yesterday. I hope the momentum continues.

Week In The Life//Monday

This week, I'm participating in Ali Edwards' Week In The Life project. You can read more about it here. I've wanted to play along every year, because I think it's such a neat concept, but I could never get myself to do it. But this year, I'm in. Well, at least for this initial day anyway. I'm not quite sure yet how I'm going to document it all. For now, I'm keeping notes and taking photos. I'm also looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day.

The morning light.

The morning juice. (My morning coffee.)

The morning cereal.

The big sorting/organizing project.

My favorite lunch.

Observations//
I definitely took more photos early on in the day.
I need to be better about getting self portrait shots.
I spend a lot of time at the computer (emailing, job searching, reading blogs, etc.)

I already have ideas for photos tomorrow, so that's a good sign!

Stay tuned...
